Becoming a Healing Touch Practitioner took me a few years to complete my training. I initially decided to take my first level to see if it would help me heal myself. I had been through many changes in my life and had many experiences that had left me with many bumps and bruises (not literally), but let’s say that my heart and emotions had been through the wringer.
I signed up for a weekend Level 1 Healing Touch. I remember feeling a bit nervous at first. I didn’t know anyone, and I really didn’t know much about Healing Touch. The weekend was very beautiful and cathartic for me and for many others.
I couldn’t really “feel” what others were feeling initially. I thought I was never going to be able to do this work. Others in the class were experiencing and sharing lots of healing. I was still trying to feel if I was really feeling or if it was my imagination. Of course, I was hanging out in my head, trying to figure everything out instead of allowing it.
I completed my weekend and received my Level 1 certificate, and I was now on my way to practice what I had learned over the weekend, and I felt amazing!
I completed levels 2 and 3 in separate weekend classes. Level 4 was at a retreat setting. To become a Healing Touch Practitioner, there was a lot of prep work to do, including completing 100 sessions with clients and recording each session. I had to read several books that pertained to energy healing and do a report on each one. I also had to experience ten different healing modalities and write a report about each session. I also worked closely with a mentor who helped guide me through each step of the way. Once I had completed all my homework, it was time to complete my Level 5, which would make me a Healing Touch Practitioner.
